I was reading NARGA's list of what they think rescue groups need and I disagree with much of it. It might be interesting to see what rescues really want.
Top of my list would be a legislative responsibility for pounds to work with rescue, something along the lines of the US Oreo's Law, based on the Californian legislation.
Local government get funding from state government based on a range of identified needs and performance measures, couldn't the live release rate of animals be one of them? And I'd include the live release rate in every local laws officer's annual performance agreement.
In Victoria a whole-of-state dog registration process in order to avoid the tedious process of registering and de-registering dogs every few weeks.
